About
Microcosm Ensemble is a modular chamber ensemble working beyond the confines of standard instrumentation. Core members include Jennifer Rodriguez (flute) and Alec Burke (trumpet). Our mission consists of commissioning works for flute and trumpet, and providing outreach opportunities for communities to experience chamber music performance in a variety of settings. By providing intimate music experiences, Microcosm creates a bridge between our community and the larger Classical Music world.

Jennifer Rodriguez is a "breakout" freelance flutist living in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
As a founding member of Black Cat Ensemble and Microcosm Ensemble, Jennifer has dedicated her career to chamber music performance and educational outreach. Her passions emphasize bringing music to local communities and using music as a catalyst for social change. Since moving to Wisconsin, Jennifer has had the privilege of working with Milwaukee's DanceWorks Inc., Lofty Life LLC, and holds a position at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music.

Jennifer received her BS in Flute Performance from Ball State University in 2017, and will be receiving her Master's of Music in Flute Performance and Chamber Performance at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in May 2022.
